No Curbs On Veg Oil Imports

The government has dismissed the application filed by Solvent Extractors Association of India (SEAI) urging imposition of safeguards on imports of vegetable oils (edible grade) saying that it found the plea unnecessary.

It has also rejected setting up of a reference price mechanism for imposition of safeguard duty saying that the trigger price mechanism would penalize efficient producers and encourage inefficient producers.
