Oil rise dents US mkt, tech ADRs end firm

US markets, which rallied sharply on Thursday, witnessed a oil driven sell-off on the last day of the trading week. While the Dow Jones dropped 61 points to 10,158, the Nasdaq lost 1.54% (down 30 pts) to close at 1,932.

Tech ADRs continued with its Thursday's party and ended with decent gains, while other Indian floats largely ended on a sluggish note.

Infosys advanced 3.31% to $64.51, while Wipro jumped 2.73% to $19.60. Satyam also ended in the green with marginal gains at $22.55.

While HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Dr. Reddy's, Tata Motors and MTNL ended at lower levels, VSNL managed to finish in the green at $8.85.
