Oil up to $101/bbl

Crude oil climbed more than $3 a barrel to the highest in a week at $101 on speculation that the US government's measures to resolve the financial crisis may bolster demand for petro products.

This happened after US Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson and Fed Chairman Ben S Bernanke said they're planning to halt the credit-market seizure.
