Opto Circuits gains 4% post Q2 results

Opto Circuits is trading higher by 4% at Rs 260 on reporting 56% year-on-year (y-o-y) jump in its net profit at Rs 121 crore for the quarter ended September 2011 led by higher operational income. Net sales grew 70% to Rs 562 crore on y-o-y basis.

However, profit margins declined by more than 100 basis points (bps). Operating profit margins declined to 26.61% from 29% and net profit margins to 21.53% from 23% during the recently concluded quarter.

The stock opened at Rs 257 and hit a high of Rs 265 on the Bombay Stock Exchange. A combined 80,000 shares have changed hands on the counter till 0953 hours.
