Orient Green Power jumps 12% on successful installation

The stock opened at Rs 16.50 and touched a high of Rs 18.10 on the BSE

Orient Green Power has surged nearly 12% at Rs 18 on the BSE (Bombay Stock Exchange) after the company has successfully synchronized its 20 MW cogeneration plant located at Kolhapur, Maharashtra with the state grid on February 08, 2015.

With this, the total installed capacity of the biomass business of the Company has risen to 106MW and all its on-going projects in the biomass business have now been commissioned.

The plant would use bagasse as the main fuel and shall supply surplus power to Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited.

The stock opened at Rs 16.50 and touched a high of Rs 18.10 on the BSE. Till 0945 hours, nearly 9 lakh shares changed hands on both the counters.
