Orissa frames iron ore mining licence rules

 This follows growing demand for such leases from corporate houses intending to set up steel plants in the state.

 Till date, 19 investors have shown interest to set up integrated steel plants in Orissa envisaging a combined investment of Rs 12,000 crore.

 Of these four have signed MoUs with the state government earlier this month for setting up mini integrated steel plants with combined investment of Rs 2416 crore. Orissa has about 28 per cent of the country
