Palmolein and crude palm oil prices rose by Rs 10 per quintal on the wholesale oils and oilseeds market today, largely on a firming global trend.

Other edible as well as non-edible oils, however, continued to be traded at previous levels.

Market analysts said recovery in palm oil in global markets after recent declines, influenced the trading sentiments.

Besides, scattered buying by vanaspati mills also supported the rise in select edible oil prices, they said. Meanwhile, palm oil futures for delivery in June gained 1.8 per cent to $1,111 a tonne in Kuala Lumpur.

In the national capital, palmolein (rbd) and palmolein (kandla) gained Rs 10 each to Rs 5,790 and Rs 5,490, while crude palm oil (ex-kandla) traded higher by the same margin to Rs Rs 5,210 per quintal, respectively.
