Panic On Lifting Of Rubber Import Curbs

Rubber prices, which had been rising since February this year and had been holding firm since July, have started declining since Friday following the announcement of the Union commerce ministry last week allowing imports of rubber through all Indian ports.

The commerce ministry had last year restricted rubber imports through two identified ports, Kolkata and Visakhapatnam, with a view to arrest the fall in rubber prices and its impact on the country
