Partial Recovery - Sensex down 344pts

The Sensex has staged a partial recovery and is now down 344 points at 9413. The index had touched a low of 9201.

There is not a single gainer among the Sensex stocks.

Grasim has crashed over 8% to Rs 1,505. HLL has slumped 7.6% to Rs 203.

Reliance Energy has tumbled over 7% to Rs 375, and Tata Steel has dropped 6.4% to Rs 432.

HDFC, Cipla, Gujarat Ambuja and Reliance have declined around 6% each to Rs 1,095, Rs 199, Rs 83 and Rs 839, respectively.

Tata Power and ONGC have slipped over 5% each to Rs 438 and Rs 940, respectively.

The market breadth is extremely negative - 96% of the traded stocks on the BSE are in negative zone. Out of a total of 2,076 stocks traded so far, 1,993 have declined, 72 have advanced and 11 are unchanged.
