Salil Shroff, managing director PCPL said, the approval was expected by the end of this year. The company recently received approval for export of Oryzalin.
The move to explore the export market for herbicides and pesticides stemmed from the growth witnessed in these items.
PCPL, at present, is working on around 9 to 10 pesticides, to be launched over the next couple of years, in the domestic as well as export market.
Herbicides are essentially being developed for application in agriculture produce such as paddy, rice and orchards. The company has embarked on domestic trials for commercialisation.
Currently, the company manufactures different agrochemicals like insecticide, herbicide and fungicide.
The main product of the company is Metamitron which is widely used in Europe. The major markets of herbicide products such as Triclopyr, Ethofumisate, Oryzalin are Europe and the US.
PCPL is already working on two potential paddy and rice herbicides for the domestic market and is in the process of registering them.
The company has recently forayed into pharmaceuticals industry by acquiring controlling stake in Alpha Drugs and plans to initiate the process of patenting a couple of products in the US.
