If Reliance Industries, which has a Sensex weightage of 10.15 per cent, opens at around Rs 618 on Monday, it alone can add around 20 points to Friday's close of 6906.52, taking the Sensex to a new level of 6926.

If Reliance Energy also moves up by an identical margin can add up around four points to the index.

Reliance Industries closed at Rs 606.85 on Friday, while the benchmark index touched a high of 6921.60 at close on Friday. However, the system of averaging of closing prices of the last half hour trade pushed it to a lower level of 6906.52 at its closing.

Most Sensex scrips closed higher than their average close of the day. If the scrips open higher than the average close of Friday, they will take the Sensex to around 7,000 on Monday.

The average prices of Sensex stocks were 1.25 per cent below their day's high touched on Friday. The BSE Sensex has to go up by around 1.37 per cent to touch 7000.

Infosys Technologies closed at Rs 2228.80 on Friday from the day's high of Rs 2299.95. With its Sensex weightage of 10.91 per cent, Infosys could add around five points to the Sensex.

ICICI Bank, which closed 2.27 per cent lower on Friday compared to its high of 427.95, has to add 13 points to the index. Bharti Tele-Ventures, which closed 4.65 per cent lower from its day's high of Rs 245, has to add over 11 points.

Similarly, ITC, Larsen & Toubro and ONGC, if they trade at Friday's high level, will collectively add around 20 points to the Sensex.
