Peas, gram prices strengthen on pick up in demand

Gram and and peas prices strengthened up to Rs 50 per quintal on the wholesale pulses market today on pick up in retailers demand in view of the ongoing marriage season.

Elsewhere, prices moved in a narrow range on alternate bouts of trading and settled around previous levels.

Traders said pick up in retailers demand due to ongoing marriage season pushed up gram and peas wholesale prices.

In the national capital, gram and its dal local strengthened further by Rs 10 each to to Rs 2,485-2,510 and Rs 2,760-2,785 per quintal.

Peas white and green also seen in marriage season demand and advanced by Rs 50 each to Rs 1,850-1,950 and Rs 2,000-2,200 per quintal.
