Pepper, chilli rise on stockists buying

Black pepper and red chilli prices rose up to Rs 300 per quintal in the national capital today on increased buying by stockists as well as exporters.

Black pepper prices increased by Rs 300 to settle at Rs 24,000-24,200 against previous mark of Rs 23,700-23,900 per quintal.

Red chilli prices also traded higher at Rs 6,700-12,400 as compared with Rs 6,600-12,100 per quintal.    

Traders said sentiments turned better following rising domestic and export demand and firming trend at futures market mainly pushed up pepper and chilli prices on the wholesale kirana market here.
