Pepper futures down on subdued demand

Pepper prices fell by Rs 108 to Rs 21,883 per quintal in futures trade today on sluggish export demand.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, pepper for December month fell by Rs 108, or 0.49 per cent to Rs 21,883 per quintal with an open interest of 6,587 lots.

Likewise, the spice for delivery in January month declined by Rs 76, or 0.34 per cent to Rs 22,200 per quintal in 7059 lots.

Analysts said fall in pepper prices is due to sluggish export demand.
