Pepper futures prices rose by Rs 151 to Rs 29,155 per quintal today on fresh buying by speculators, supported by pick up in spot demand.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, pepper for delivery in June rose by Rs 151, or 0.52%, to Rs 29,155 per quintal, with an open interest of 3,790 lots.

July pepper moved up by Rs 130, or 0.45%, to Rs 28,870 per quintal, with a business turnover of 5,580 lots.

Market analysts said fresh buying by speculators on the back of better trend at spot market mainly pushed up pepper futures prices.
