Pepper futures prices edged up by 1.29% to Rs 22,669 per quintal today taking positive cues from spot markets on rising demand.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, pepper for delivery in April went up by Rs 288, or 1.29%, to Rs 22,669 per quintal, with an open interest of 8,765 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in March moved up by Rs 236, or 1.08%, to Rs 22,142 per quintal, clocking an open interest of 3,935 lots.
Analysts said firming trend at the domestic markets on the back of rising demand, mainly supported the rise in pepper futures prices here.
