Black pepper and jeera prices fell up to Rs 200 per quintal in the national capital today due to higher arrivals in the domestic markets, amid weak local and export demand.

Weak trends in futures trade and increased arrivals from producing belts also put pressure on the prices. Black pepper prices fell by Rs 200 to conclude at Rs 28,300-28,500 per quintal.

Jeera common and jeera best quality also drifted by Rs 100 to settle at Rs 14,600-14,900 and Rs 16,800-16,900 per quintal, respectively.

Market analysts said increased arrivals from producing belts against weak local and export demand, mainly attributed fall in pepper and jeera prices on the wholesale kirana market here.
