Black pepper and jeera prices fell by Rs 200 per quintal each in the national capital today on sluggish demand from retailers and stockists amid adequate stocks.

Weakening trend in futures market also put pressure on the prices. Prices elsewhere moved in a restricted range on small bouts of trading and settled at last levels.

Black pepper fell by Rs 200 to conclude at Rs 20,500-20,600 per quintal.

Jeera common and jeera best quality also traded lower at Rs 13,400-13,600 and Rs 14,600-15,100 per quintal, respectively.

Traders said sluggish demand from retailers and stockists amid adequate stocks mainly pulled down the pepper and jeera prices on the wholesale kirana market here.

Ajwain 13,500-19,000, black pepper common 20,500-20,600 betelnut (kg) 86-107, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 700-725 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 780-900
