Black pepper and jeera prices fell up to Rs 200 per quintal in the Capital today on sluggish demand from retailers and stockists.

Adequate stocks following increased arrivals from the producing belts also weighed on the prices.

Black pepper fell further by Rs 100 to conclude at Rs 20,200-20,300 per quintal on reduced offtake by exporters.

Jeera common and jeera best quality also declined by Rs 200 each to settle at Rs 13,200-13,400 and Rs 14,200-14,900 per quintal, respectively.

Marketmen said sluggish demand from retailers and stockists amid adequate stocks mainly pulled down pepper and jeera prices in the wholesale kirana market here.
