Pepper, jeera fall on subdued demand

Black pepper and jeera prices fell up to Rs 200 per quintal in the national capital today due to weak local and export demand at existing higher prices.

Black pepper fell further by Rs 200 to settle at Rs 20,000-20,100 per quintal on subdued export demand.

Jeera prices also traded lower at Rs 12,900-13,100 and Rs declined to Rs 14,300-14,700, against the previous closing of Rs 13,000-13,200 and Rs 14,400-14,800 per quintal.

Marketmen said sufficient stocks position following increased arrivals from producing belts mainly pulled down the pepper and jeera prices in the wholesale kirana market here.
