Black pepper and jeera prices fell by Rs 100 per quintal each in the national capital today, due to weak local and export demand at existing higher prices.

Black pepper fell by Rs 100 to settle at Rs 19,400-19,500 per quintal.

Jeera common and jeera best quality prices also declined to Rs 12,300-12,500 and Rs 13,700-14,200 against previous closing of Rs 12,400-12,600 and Rs 13,800-14,300 per quintal.

Marketmen said reduced offtake by stockists and exporters at existing higher levels, mainly pulled down the select spice prices.

They said sufficient stocks position against increased arrivals from producing belts further influenced the trading sentiment.
