Press Trust of India New Delhi

Black pepper and jeera prices rose by Rs 200 per quintal in the national capital today on fresh buying by stockists and exporters amid low stocks.

Restricted arrivals from producing belts also put pressure on the prices. Black pepper prices rose by Rs 200 to settled at Rs 27,500-27,700 per quintal.

Jeera common and jeera best quality also traded higher by Rs 200 to conclude at Rs 14,800-15,000 and Rs 17,000-17,100 per quintal, respectively.

Traders said sentiments turned better following pick-up in domestic and export demand against restricted arrivals, pushing up pepper and jeera prices in the wholesale kirana market here.
