Pepper, jeera up on stockists buying

Black pepper and jeera prices rose up to Rs 300 per quintal in the national capital today on increased buying by  stockists as well as exporters.

Black pepper prices were up by Rs 300 to settle at Rs 22,100-22,200 per quintal. 

Jeera common and jeera best quality also traded higher at Rs 13,400-13,600 and Rs 14,700-15,200 against previous closing of Rs 13,200-13,400 and Rs 14,500-15,000 per quintal, respectively.

Traders said sentiments turned better, following strong domestic and export demand and a firm trend at futures market, pushing up pepper and jeera prices on the wholesale kirana market here.

Ajwain 13,500-18,000, black pepper common 22,100-22,200 betelnut (kg) 98-120, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 890-900 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 850-980

Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 1,000-1,100, cardamom (colour robin) 965-980, cardamom bold 985-1,000, cardamom extra (bold) 1,100-1,110 and cloves (kg) 300-370
