Black pepper and jeera prices rose by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today on increased buying by stockists and exporters.
Restricted arrivals from producing belts also put pressure on the prices.
Black pepper prices rose by Rs 100 to settle at Rs 27,900-28,000 per quintal on fresh buying by retailers due to domestic demand.
Jeera common and jeera best quality also traded higher at Rs 14,300-14,600 and Rs 16,500-16,600 against previous closing of Rs 14,200-14,500 and Rs 16,400-16,500 per quintal, respectively.
Traders said sentiments turned better following rising domestic and export demand against restricted arrivals from producing belts, which pushed up pepper and jeera prices in the wholesale kirana market.
