Pepper rises on stockists buying

Black pepper prices rose by Rs 300 per quintal in the national capital today on fresh buying by stockists amid pick-up in domestic demand. Restricted arrivals from producing belts also put pressure on the prices.   

Black pepper prices rose by Rs 300 to settle at Rs 29,200-29,700 per quintal. Market analysts said buying support from stockists and retailers against restricted arrivals from producing regions mainly pushed up pepper prices in the wholesale kirana market here.

Ajwain 17,500-23,000, black pepper common 29,200-29,700, betelnut (kg) 110-120, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 960-1,050,and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,150-1,275

Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 570-600, cardamom (colour robin) 600-635, cardamom bold 600-650, cardamom extra (bold) 850-880 and cloves (kg) 950-1,060
