Black pepper and turmeric prices rose by Rs 200 per quintal in the national capital today on fresh buying by stockists and exporters.

Restricted supplies from producing regions and firming trend in futures trade, also supported the rise in prices. Black pepper prices rose by Rs 200 to settle at Rs 28,800-30,000 per quintal.

Turmeric also traded higher at Rs 10,600-15,600 against previous closing of Rs 10,400-15,400 per quintal.

Market analysts said increased buying activity driven by pick up in domestic and export demand mainly pushed up pepper and turmeric prices on the wholesale kirana market here.
