Persistent Systems has moved higher by 6% to Rs 1,835, bouncing back over 10% from intra-day low on NSE, after the board of directors will consider a proposal to issue bonus shares.
The stock opened at Rs 1,734 and touched a low of Rs 1,635 on NSE before the announcements. The trading volumes on the counter surge multiple-fold with a combined 324,695 shares changed hands till noon deal on NSE and BSE.
“The meeting of the board of directors of the company is scheduled on January 23, 2015 and will continue on January 24, 2015, to consider a proposal for declaration/issue of bonus shares”, Persistent Systems said in a statement.
The board will also consider the audited financial results of the company for the quarter and period ended December 31, 2014; and the payment of interim dividend, if any, for the financial year 2014-15, it added.
