Pistachio up on fresh buying support

Pistachio prices today rose by Rs 5 per kg in the national capital, largely on the back of increased buying by retailers and stockists.

Fall in supplies from overseas markets also supported the rise in the prices.

Pistachio Irani, hairati and peshwari up by Rs 5 to conclude at Rs 830-855, Rs 1,055-1,105 and Rs 1,305-1,355 per kg, respectively.

Marketmen said increased buying by retailers and stockists amid tight supplies from overseas markets mainly pushed up pistachio prices on the dry fruit market here.

The following are today's quotations (per 40 kg):

Almond (California) Rs 10,600 Almond (Gurbandi-new) Rs 6,000-6,200; Almond (Girdhi) Rs 3,200-3,300; Abjosh Afghani Rs 8,000-18,000.

 

Almond Kernel (California) Rs 380-390 per kg, Almond Kernel (Gurbandi-new) Rs 400-430 per kg.
