Positive economic cues buoy Wall Street

There was green across the screen as the U.S. government said the trade deficit unexpectedly shrank in October and another report showed the four-week average jobless claims fell for a 14th week.

The Dow Jones ended at at 10,405, higher by  68 points or 0.6%, Nasdaq closed at 2,190, higher by 7.13 points or 0.3% and the S&P shut at 1,102, up six points or 0.5%.

Sterlite ended at $18, stronger by $0.2 points or 1.1%, Satyam closed at $5.12, higher by $0.1 or 1.9%, ICICI Bank shut at $37.6, up $0.6 or 1.8% and Dr Reddy's ended at $23.9, up $0.4 or 1.8%.

 

MTNL and Tata Communication ended marginally down at $3.13 and $15.44 respectively.
