Potato prices traded marginally down by 0.08% to Rs 887.50 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators offloaded their positions on subdued demand in the spot market against increased supplies from producing regions.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, potato for delivery in March traded marginally lower by 70 paise, or 0.08%, to Rs 887.50 per quintal in business turnover of 20 lots.
The potato for delivery in April also shed 30 paise, or 0.04%, to Rs 855 per quintal in a single lot.
Market analysts said speculators offloaded their positions on the back of subdued demand at prevailing higher levels against increased supplies from producing regions mainly kept pressure on potato prices at futures trade.
