Commodity for delivery in April traded down by 0.09%

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Potato prices fell 0.55% to Rs 916.30 per quintal in futures market today as speculators offloaded positions driven by low demand in the spot market against higher supplies from producing regions.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, potato for delivery in March slide by Rs 5.10, or 0.55% to Rs 916.30 per quintal with an open interest of 110 lots.

The potato for delivery in April also traded marginally down by 80 paise, or 0.09% to Rs 900 per quintal in 7 lots.

Analysts said offloading of positions by speculators due to subdued demand in the spot markets against higher supplies from producing belts, kept pressure on potato prices at futures trade.
