Potato down 0.55% on subdued demand, adequate supply

July contract eases 0.17%

Potato prices eased by 0.55% to Rs 926.10 per quintal in futures trade today as traders reduced holdings amid sluggish demand in spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, potato for delivery in June fell by Rs 5.10, or 0.55%, to Rs 926.10 per quintal in business turnover of 9 lots.

July potato also eased by Rs 1.50, or 0.17%, to Rs 866.10 per quintal in 23 lots.

Traders offloaded positions driven by subdued demand in spot market against increased arrivals, analysts said.
