Potato down 0.7% on sluggish demand

The potato for delivery in August shed by 0.62%

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Potato prices moved down by 0.76% to Rs 850 per quintal in futures trading today as speculators offloaded  their positions on the back of sluggish demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, potato for delivery in July moved down by Rs 6.50, or 0.76%, to Rs 850 per quintal in business turnover of 11 lots.

Likewise, the potato for delivery in August shed Rs 5, or 0.62%, to Rs 804.30 per quintal in four lots.

Market experts said fall in potato prices at futures trade was mostly due to offloading of positions by speculators due to sluggish demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position.
