Potato down 0.79% on adequate supply

The April contract shed Rs 2.80, or 0.40%, to Rs 701.40 per quintal in 25 lots

Potato prices drifted by Rs 5.80 to Rs 731 per quintal in futures trade today on adequate supplies following fresh arrivals from producing belts against subdued demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, the March contract for potato declined by Rs 5.80, or 0.79%, to Rs 731 per quintal in business turnover of 14 lots.

The April contract shed Rs 2.80, or 0.40%, to Rs 701.40 per quintal in 25 lots.

Market analysts said adequate stocks following fresh arrivals from producing belts against sluggish demand mainly kept pressure on potato futures.
