Potato falls 0.5% on fresh supply

Fresh arrivals from producing belts also put pressure on potato futures prices

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Potato futures for April fell by Rs 4.50, or 0.54%, to Rs 816 per quintal in 21 lots.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), the March contract traded lower by Rs 3.70, or 0.44% to Rs 837 per quintal in nine lots.

Prices dropped as speculators offloaded their positions due to low domestic market demand.

Adequate supplies in the physical market following fresh arrivals from producing belts also put pressure on potato futures prices.
