Potato prices fell by Rs 18.30 to Rs 731 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators offloaded positions on the back of subdued spot market demand against adequate stocks position.
At the Multi Commodity exchange, potato for delivery in March fell by Rs 18.30, or 2.44%, to Rs 731 per quintal, with a business turnover of 46 lots.
October potato moved down by Rs 11.30, or 1.02%, to Rs 1,101.50 per quintal, with a business turnover of 59 lots.
Marketmen said speculators offloaded positions, driven by a weak trend at spot market following subdued demand kept pressure on potato.
