Potato prices fell by Rs 23.70 to Rs 657.10 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators offloaded their positions, driven by fall in the spot market.
8 per cent, to Rs 657.10 per quintal, with a business volume of 647 lots.
The potato for delivery in April eased by Rs 19.90, or three per cent, to Rs 642.70 per quintal, with a business volume of 859 lots.
Likewise, potato futures prices for delivery in March traded lower by Rs 6.80, or 0.93 per cent, to Rs 722.30 per quintal, with an open interest of 109 lots.
Traders said fall in potato prices was mostly due to offloading by speculators, driven by subdued demand in the spot market.
