Potato prices moved down by Rs 4.10 to Rs 584 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators reduced their positions against adequate supply.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, potato for delivery in June fell by Rs 4.10, or 0.70%, to Rs 584 per quintal, with an open interest of a single lot.

The May contract shed Rs 3.70, or 0.62%, to Rs 596.30, with a business turnover of just one lot.

Traders attributed the fall in potato futures prices to off-loading of positions by speculators against adequate supply.
