In a range-bound trading, potato prices slipped by Rs 1.70 to Rs 426.60 per quintal in futures trade today owing to slackness in spot market demand.
At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange potato for far-month September declined by Rs 1.70, or 0.40 per cent to Rs 426.60 per quintal in 42,330 lots.
However, potato for the current month July held steady at Rs 418 per quintal in 30,405 lots.
Traders said sluggish demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position led to fall in potato prices at futures market.
