Potato futures prices traded higher by Rs 3.30 to Rs 620 per quintal today, as traders and speculators enlarged their positions, supported by a rise in demand in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, potato for March contract rose by Rs 3.30, or 0.54 per cent to Rs 620 per quintal, with a business turnover of two lots.

The potato for delivery in April contract, also edged up by Rs 2.80, or 0.47 per cent to Rs 604.90 per quintal, with a business volume of three lots.

Market analysts said speculators and traders enlarging their holdings on pick up in demand in the spot market, led to rise in potato futures prices.
