Potato futures prices rose by Rs 3.70, to Rs 653.90 per quintal in futures trade today on pick up in demand in the spot market against less arrivals from the producing region.

At the Multi Commodity exchange counter, potato for delivery in March rose by Rs 3.70, or 0.57 per cent, to Rs 653.90 per quintal, with a business turnover of two lots.

The potato for delivery in April also gained Rs 3.30, or 0.52 per cent, to Rs 633.90 per quintal, with a business turnover of two lots.

Rise in potato futures prices was due to pick-up demand in the spot market against restricted arrivals.
