Potato prices traded marginally lower by Rs 1.70 or 0.36 per cent to Rs 467.20 per quintal in futures trade today on subdued demand in spot markets against increased arrivals from the producing regions.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, potato for delivery in July contract lost Rs 1.70, or 0.36 per cent to Rs 467.20 per quintal, with an open interest of 33,285 lots.
The potato for delivery in current-month June also shed Rs 1.50, or 0.33 per cent to Rs 457 per quintal, with a business volume of 12,165 lots.
Marketmen said increased supply in the physical market against subdued demand mainly led to a fall in potato prices at futures trade.
