Potato futures prices gained Rs 1.90 to Rs 624.50 per quintal today on pick up in demand in the spot market ahead of the marriage season.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, Mentha oil for March contract gained 1.90, or 0.31 per cent to Rs 624.50 per quintal, with a trade volume of just one lot.

Similarly, the potato for delivery in April contract traded higher by Rs 1.70, or 0.28 per cent to Rs 607.90 per quintal, with a trade volume of just one lot.

Market experts said positions enlarged by traders on expectations of pick up in demand during marriage season led to rise in potato futures prices.
