Potato futures trade higher on fresh demand

Potato futures prices rose by Rs 3.20 to Rs 603.50 per quintal today on fresh demand in the spot market, supported by the festive and marriage season.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, Potato for delivery in March rose by Rs 3.20, or 0.53 per cent, to Rs 603.50 per quintal, with an open interest of just one lot.

The potato for delivery in April also edged up by Rs 2, or 0.34 per cent, to Rs 588.00 per quintal, with a trade volume of just one lot.
    
Market experts said fresh demand in the spot market in view of the festive and marriage season, mainly led to rise in potato futures prices.
