Supported by pick up in demand in the spot market, potato prices edged higher by 0.07% to Rs 589.90 per quintal in futures market today.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, April potato traded higher by 40 paise, or 0.07%, to Rs 589.90 per quintal, with a business turnover of four lots.

The March contract also inched up by 10 paise, or 0.02%, to Rs 616.50 per quintal, with a trade volume of 26 lots.

Analysts said improved demand against less arrivals from producing region mainly helped potato prices to trade marginally higher at futures trade.
