Potato futures traded higher by Rs 1.50 to Rs 629.70 per quintal in futures market today following improved demand in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, the April contract traded higher by Rs 1.50, or 0.24% to Rs 629.70 per quintal with a business volume of 4 lots.

March potato edged up by 50 paise, or 0.08% to Rs 659.90 per kg in business turnover of 95 lots.

Analysts said fresh positions created by speculators following a rise in demand in the spot market mainly led to rise in potato futures prices.
