Potato prices gained Rs 2.30 to Rs 596.50 per quintal in futures trading today on pick up in spot demand in view of festive season.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, potato for October-month gained Rs 2.30, or 0.39 per cent, to Rs 596.50 per quintal, with a business turnover of one lot.

Similarly, the potato for delivery in March contract edged up by Rs 1.20, or 0.21 per cent, to Rs 585 per quintal, with an open interest of single lot.
