In thin trade, potato prices traded marginally lower by 0.19% to Rs 738.60 per quintal in futures trade today on reduced offtake on subdued demand at prevailing higher levels.

Fresh arrivals from producing belts dampened the sentiment.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, potato for delivery in March declined by Rs 1.40, or 0.19%, to Rs 738.60 per quintal, with an open interest of a single lot.

The May contract held steady at Rs 731 per quintal, with an open interest of 20 lots.

Marketmen said reduced offtake by traders on the back of subdued demand at prevailing higher levels amid fresh arrivals from producing regions caused potato futures to trade lower.
