Potato futures prices fell by Rs five, or 1.11 per cent, at Rs 446.70 per 100 kg today on the back of reduced offtake by speculators and stockists.
Adequate stocks position followed by increased arrivals from producing regions also put pressure on the prices.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, potato for delivery in September-month fell by Rs five, or 1.11 per cent, to Rs 446.70 per 100 kg, with a trading volume of 519 lots.
Similarly, the commodity for August contract eased by Rs 3.70, or 0.82 per cent, to Rs 446.60 per 100 kg, with a volume of 375 lots.
Marketmen said increased supply from Haldwani and Agra against sluggish demand mainly led to a fall in potato prices at futures market.
