Continuing its' yesterday's slide, potato prices fell further by Rs 9.20 to Rs 331.20 per 100 kg  in futures trading today, as traders reduced their positions on subdued demand in the spot market amid adequate spud supplies.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, potato for September month delivery fell by Rs 9.20 or 2.70 per cent to Rs 331.20 per 100 kg, with trading volume of 1038 lots.

The potato for delivery in October month contract declined by Rs 6.70 or 1.94 per cent to Rs 337.90 per 100 kg in 757 lots, while August month contract eased by Rs 4.40 or 1.28 per cent to Rs 339 per 100 kg with a trading volume of 335 lots.

Traders said subdued demand in the spot market, against adequate stocks followed by increased arrivals, continued to put pressure on the potato prices in futures trade.
